Thank you very much for your reply Diderot, but I dont' understand what you mean by '...Chinese is muhc less unique...'. It's either a language, or a group of dialects, or via extention, a language family:S.

iu.wp

[edit]

Hi Didero,

as I've seen you are an admin on iu.wp. Could you delete the nonsense pages you can see on http://iu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Recentchanges? Thanks in advance, Pill- 17:02, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You wrote that you are no longer active on iu.wp really. Since the "unknown"-vandal is active tough, please could you give me sysop rights there? I will have a look on that wiki. Since my knowledge on Inuktitut is not that high (I know some grammar but no vocabulary and script) I can not contribute but, at least, I can revert and block open proxies (and such things). (Btw., not that you're wondering, Suisui gave me the rights only for some minutes to revert and block the IPs, I also blocked the main page to "autoconfirmed".) Greatings, --Thogo (Talk) 16:52, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. Just tell me how to? --Diderot 20:02, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're bureaucrat there, so you have access to a special page iu:Special:Makesysop. It's still everything in English there, so't should be no problem. (Hope some day an Inuktitut speaker translates all these pages... :o) ) Grtx, --Thogo (Talk) 17:24, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It should be done now. --Diderot 20:54, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I've seen it. Thank you. :o) I will look well after the wiki. Grtx, --Thogo (Talk) 20:57, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour,

Merci d'avance.

Vargenau 06:14, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

--Diderot 06:26, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Bonjour, you're the only available Bureaucrat on iu.wp, other sysops can't set bot flags. But I request Bot flag for Escarbot on Meta, that should work either. --Thogo (Talk) 09:00, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - in this article you said (two years ago!) that both brothers wrote Quest for fire, however according to this source [1] (a 1967 edition dust jacket) it was the older brother, and also the J.-H. Rosny article says after 1909 the brothers stopped working together and Quest for Fire was published in 1911. Do you have any sources or info to help clear up the contradictions? See also the talk page for Quest for Fire. Thanks! -- Stbalbach 15:57, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logo cooks.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo cooks.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.

I suppose "不好说" means you don't speak it well. :) "不好说" here means "Don't speak Dutch" or "Not good to speak Dutch".

You may say:

Note that 語 and 文, when used as names of languages, are the same, though 文 specifically refers to "text". Also, 荷蘭語說不好 may be put after "English". It's more natural to put less important things at the back.

In Chinese page:

I suppose you mean "You don't speak Dutch? I also don't". But how do you translate Dutch into others? :) --Fitzwilliam 16:15, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two years ago, you made these edits to this article, adding block quotations of Song Ci's writing without using inline citations to cite your sources properly with page number and author. Well, now it is coming back to haunt you. Lol. I am working on getting the article Society of the Song Dynasty up to Good Article status, and there is information about Song Ci in the article that is crucial to the article's success in passing. Since you were able to provide Song Ci's writing, I am presuming that you own McKnight's book that translates Song Ci's writing, and if this is so, I need you to properly cite those block quotes. Thank you, it actually means a lot if you could do this, I would be incredibly grateful.--PericlesofAthens 23:38, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

This is an automated message from a robot. You have recently uploaded Image:Banquet-logo.gif. The file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:55, 12 September 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. If you believe you received this message in error, please notify the bot's owner. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Wesson.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Wesson.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:18, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unified Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics character table

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Unified Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics character table, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Unified Canadian Aboriginal Syllabics character table. Bonsoir.

|This theft was followed by a series of bombings attributed to the ARB, including a fatal explosion at a McDonald's in Quévert (Côtes-d'Armor). Ultimately, a former spokesman for Emgann was found guilty of conspiracy to commit terrorist acts for the bombings in Quévert and elsewhere. [3]

Vous pouvez me répondre ici ou me joindre sur ma page de discussion du Wiki en français.

Cordialement.

Frederic Henry Ambrose Scrivener

[edit]

I looked to the history of edits in the article and found that you are responsible for this sentence: "He was an advocate of the Textus Receptus over more modern manuscripts as a source for Bible translations." It is not true. Scrivener was not supporter of the Textus Receptus, he was one of its major critics. Scrivener enumerated all differences between Erasmian editions, Stephanus (1550), Theodore Beze (1565), and Elzevier's editions (1624, 1633). Scrivened distinguished as the first the Textus Receptus from the Majority Text. Scrivener enumerated all errors of the Textus Receptus. See his monumental book "A Plain Introduction to the Criticism of the New Testament" (London 1894) two volumes. Why did you write "He was an advocate of the Textus Receptus"? Perhaps you took it from books of supporters of KJV. A lot of erros in these books, they are not reliable. Leszek Jańczuk (talk) 22:25, 8 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Big Mama Sausage has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A search for references failed to find significant coverage in reliable sources to comply with notability requirements. This included web searches for news coverage, books, and journals, which can be seen from the following links:
Big Mama Sausagenews, books, scholar
Consequently, this article is about a subject that appears to lack sufficient notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 272 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Merge

[edit]

I have proposed to merge Apostille and Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents. I noticed you seem to have started both of them on the same day in 2004. I cannot understand why two separate articles were started (unless redirects didn't exist back in 2004). Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
