chains in ROK
[edit]Here is a reference saying (in its first sentence) that most hagweons are chains or franchises: http://www.asia-pacific-connections.com/hakwon_franchises.html. I don't know if this ref. qualifies as citable, though.
Pay in China
[edit]The pay rates listed from 2008 are seriously out of date. China's esl/efl market has evolved quite a bit since 2008. Have updated them with current figures that are more representative of the reality (I will be cleaning this up and expanding on it, as well as formatting with breaks). In fact, plenty of the china info is poorly written; I will be updating more in the near future to reflect the current state of affairs.

Asia
[edit]The most recent edit, which is a paragraph or two about Asia, needs copy editing but also citations, NPOV work, and some other improvements or removal - although the general points are mostly correct. Kdammers (talk) 20:43, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
ESL and ESOL
[edit]In regards to ESL, I think that it needs to be distinguished that the term is mainly used in English speaking countries. I think that becomes confusing in this Wiki page when it says it is another acronym used just like TEFL. In addition, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) is another term used in conjunction with ESL.

China
[edit]The reference to " be at least 25 years old " leads to a commercial (recruiter) site that does not have this information readily (if at all) visible. Also, upper age limits should be added for China. Kdammers (talk) 03:30, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
